FAQs
Primers, Additives and Sealers:
AS-100
Q: How long can you leave AS-100 open prior to putting down the self leveling?
A: AS-100 should not be left open for more than 24 hours. If left open for longer, re-prime diluted 1 part water to 1 part AS-100.
Q: How long does AS-100 take to dry?
A: On standard concrete AS-100 should dry within 1 -2 hours. Over non-porous substrates AS-100 dries within 3-4 hours. (70 degrees)
Q: Can you use AS-100 for going over porous and non-porous substrates?
A: Yes. AS-100 is very versatile covering virtually any substrate. Please refer to the AS-100 technical datasheet for mixing ratio’s and coverage rates.
Q: Is any primer OK to use with CMP underlayments and toppings when your in a “bind”?
A: In most cases other manufacturer’s primers are compatible. However, its best to check with CMP’s technical service department prior to application. (215.540.8100)
EP-100
Q: What sand should i use for broadcasting with EP-100?
A: CMP provides EB-50 Sand with both EP-100 and V-20 Plus which require sand broadcasts. If you do not have access to EB-50 please contact CMP’s technical service department for further instructions. (215.540.8100)
Q: How much sand should I broadcast with EP-100?
A: 3/4 lb per square foot or 300 lbs. per 2.1 gallon unit.
Vapor Remediation:
V-20 Plus
Q: Does the V-20 Plus require shot-blasting?
A: Yes, both the V-20 Plus and V-25 require shot-blasting as their success is based on substrate penetration.
Q: How fast can V-20 Plus accept subsequent coatings?
A: V-20 Plus can receive coatings in as little as 12 hours depending on conditions.
V-25
Q: How many pounds of moisture does V-25 mitigate?
A: V-25 can be placed at different thicknesses and mitigate 10, 15, or 25 lbs. Refer to V-25 datasheet for mitigation coverage rates.
Q: Can adhesives be applied directly on top of V-25 ?
A: Adhesives that are rated for non-porous substrates may be applied directly to V-25 from 5 hours up to 5 days after application.
Trowelable Products
White Patch
Q: Is White Patch compatable with old gypsum patches?
A: CMP provides EB-50 Sand with both EP-100 and V-20 Plus which require sand broadcasts. If you do not have access to EB-50 please contact CMP’s technical service department for further instructions. (215.540.8100)
Prepstar
Q: Can Prepstar be applied directly over ceramic tile?
A: Yes. The ceramic should be free of all waxes and glazes by abrading. After removing any glazes or contaminants the floor should be mopped and allowed to dry.
Self Leveling Floor Underlayments
Q: Does CMP manufacture a lightweight cement based self leveling?
A: Yes……..PourLite is a Calcium Aluminate based, interior, self leveling underlayment designed specifically for applications where the weight of conventional underlayments or concrete will exceed the allowable load. It is also ideal for fast track projects where the dry-time or application thickness needed for standard lightweight concrete is not available.
